The Opportunity Fuze HR Solutions is currently recruiting for a Junior Project Manager – Industrial Equipment & Installations on behalf of an established organization within the industrial equipment sector in Mississauga.
Direct experience within the loading dock equipment industry is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
As the Junior Project Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring projects are properly reviewed, coordinated and executed. Responsibilities will include:
- Review incoming sales orders and project requirements for accuracy and completeness before processing.
- Work closely with the Sales team to support order entry and ensure all technical and project information is captured correctly.
- Review project costs, freight and other order-related expenses to help ensure established project margins are maintained.
- Coordinate equipment and material orders required for each project.
- Monitor manufacturing status, equipment availability and delivery lead times.
- Coordinate project timelines to ensure customer sites are prepared for equipment delivery and installation.
- Coordinate installation schedules and requirements with subcontractors.
- Work closely with established subcontractors throughout project execution.
- Assist with the onboarding and setup process when new subcontractors are required.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, schedules and overall progress.
- Assist with project documentation, including project updates and other supporting documentation.
- Support RFIs, permits and other construction/project documentation where required.
- Review and interpret customer blueprints, specifications, site plans and technical drawings.
- Communicate with internal departments, Sales, suppliers, subcontractors, general contractors and customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify potential project issues early and work with the Senior Project Manager to determine appropriate solutions.
- Assist with technical troubleshooting and project-related problem solving based on experience and technical knowledge.
- Maintain accurate project and order information within the company's ERP system.
- Help ensure equipment installations are completed in accordance with project requirements.
- Provide timely project status updates to internal stakeholders.
- Support project closeout and other project management activities as required.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have approximately 2–5 years of relevant project management, project coordination or installation coordination experience within an industrial, technical, equipment or construction-related environment.
We are particularly interested in candidates who bring:
- Experience within the loading dock equipment industry or a closely related industrial equipment environment.
- Project management or strong project coordination experience.
- An understanding of the complete project lifecycle, from order entry and technical review through equipment delivery, site readiness, installation and completion.
- Experience coordinating equipment, materials, project schedules and installations.
- Experience working with subcontractors, suppliers and other external stakeholders.
- Understanding of project budgets, costing, freight and margins.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications and technical/site drawings.
- Strong computer skills and confidence working with ERP and project management systems.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when reviewing orders, costs and project documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical teams, Sales, subcontractors, general contractors and customers.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to attend project sites within the GTA/Ontario when required.
Strong computer skills are important for success in this position.
Experience with JD Edwards (JDE) would be considered an asset; however, previous JDE experience is not mandatory.
Education & Certifications
For this opportunity, relevant industry and project experience will be prioritized.
The following would be considered assets:
- Diploma or degree in Engineering Technology, Construction, Mechanical/Electrical Technology, Project Management or a related discipline.
- PMP certification or project management training.
- CAD or technical drawing experience.
- JHSC or other relevant safety certifications.
Work Environment This is a predominantly office-based role in Mississauga, Ontario, with approximately: 80% office-based / up to 20% site-related work The amount of site involvement may vary depending on project requirements and the successful candidate's technical experience. Regular working hours are: Monday to Friday
8:00 AM – 4:30 PM The position will primarily support projects throughout the GTA and Ontario. Regular overnight and out-of-province travel is not expected, and regular evening or weekend work is not a requirement of this position.
Compensation The anticipated base salary range is: $100,000–$115,000 annually
