About the Opportunity

An established Ontario general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its team in Barrie.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing ICI construction projects from preconstruction and planning through execution, closeout and turnover. This position will work closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, site teams and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Manage construction projects from award through completion and closeout

  • Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules and procurement plans

  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and project teams

  • Review drawings, specifications and contract documentation

  • Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and change orders

  • Monitor project costs, commitments, forecasts and overall financial performance

  • Prepare and review progress billings and subcontractor payments

  • Lead project meetings and maintain communication with clients, consultants and trades

  • Coordinate project procurement and subcontractor awards

  • Identify and resolve project risks, scheduling issues and cost concerns

  • Work closely with site supervision to support project execution

  • Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting

  • Manage project closeout, commissioning and turnover requirements

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of construction project management experience

  • Previous experience working with a general contractor

  • Strong background in ICI, institutional, commercial or similar construction projects

  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, change orders and subcontractors

  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications and contracts

  • Excellent organizational, communication and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

  • Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Technology or related education is considered an asset

  • Must be able to work full-time from the Barrie office

Compensation

$120,000–$150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications, along with a competitive overall compensation package.
