Job Title: Material Logistics Agent
Job Description
The Material Logistics Agent supports aviation production logistics by coordinating and monitoring the flow of materials and cockpit parts between multiple sites in Canada. This role focuses on purchase order processing, data entry, and material flow management for components related to global jet programs, ensuring that all parts are delivered accurately and on time to support ongoing production activities. The position is highly operational and requires strong attention to detail, familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes, and the ability to work efficiently with data entry systems and dashboards in a fast-paced aerospace environment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and follow material shipments from Montreal to Saint Laurent, with final delivery to Toronto, ensuring accurate and timely movement of parts and materials.
- Support logistics operations for material flow from Mexico to Toronto, helping align production support with aviation production teams.
- Process a high volume of purchase orders, including a weekly average of approximately 3,000 cockpit parts and bits, with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
- Perform extensive data entry using various data entry systems and software to manage purchase orders and track incoming material flow.
- Participate in daily morning meetings to review and update dashboards, identify urgent work, and prioritize invoicing and logistics tasks that require immediate attention.
- Communicate regularly with night shift purchasing teams to coordinate activities, resolve issues, and ensure continuity between shifts.
- Support outstanding and overdue work (redoak outstanding works) by identifying orders that are past deadline or have fallen through the cracks and taking action to bring them back on track.
- Manage and track outstanding commodities related to the 6000 and 7000 global jets, adapting to increased order volumes and associated workload.
- Focus on logistics related to the Environmental Control System (ECS), including air conditioning and cabin pressure control components, ensuring that all related parts are properly ordered and delivered.
- Use Microsoft Office and Excel to analyze data, update tracking sheets, and maintain accurate records of inventory, purchase orders, and material flow.
- Apply knowledge of logistics, supply chain processes, and transportation to optimize material movement and support production requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that material requirements are met and that the flow of materials to the end production location is coordinated effectively.
- Maintain accurate inventory and material flow records to support traceability and compliance within the aerospace production environment.
Essential Skills
- At least 3 years of experience in logistics, with hands-on involvement in material flow, inventory, or supply chain operations.
- Strong logistics Experience gained in a 3PL, aerospace, or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including strong skills in Excel for data entry, tracking, and basic analysis.
- Experience with logistics and supply chain processes, including purchase order management and transportation coordination.
- Ability to work with data entry systems and software to manage purchase orders and incoming material flow.
- Solid understanding of material flow and inventory concepts within a production or industrial setting.
- Ability to handle a high volume of purchase orders and maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize urgent work and outstanding tasks.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with night shift purchasing teams and internal stakeholders.
- Capability to work onsite and adapt to day and afternoon shifts as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace logistics or supporting aviation production teams.
- Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems used for inventory and purchase order management.
- Exposure to transportation coordination and supply chain processes across multiple locations.
- Experience working with Environmental Control System (ECS) components, such as air conditioning and cabin pressure control parts, in an aerospace context.
- Experience in managing logistics for complex programs such as global jets or other high-volume production lines.
- Ability to interpret dashboards and data reports to identify priorities and urgent actions.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume logistics environment with tight deadlines.
- Contract role with potential for extension, offering exposure to a leading aerospace organization in Canada.
Work Environment
This role is fully onsite, with work performed at the logistics and production support facilities five days a week. The position involves day and afternoon shifts, with afternoon hours typically running from approximately 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. or midnight, and there may be a need to support both shifts at times depending on operational requirements. The environment is highly operational and data-driven, with extensive use of Microsoft Office, Excel, and logistics-related systems, potentially including SAP, to manage purchase orders, inventory, and material flow. The setting is fast-paced and focused on supporting aerospace production, particularly for global jet programs and Environmental Control System components. Team members participate in daily morning meetings to review dashboards and prioritize urgent work, and they collaborate closely with night shift purchasing teams to ensure continuous coverage. The work involves handling a large volume of cockpit parts and materials and requires comfort in a structured, process-oriented environment typical of aerospace and manufacturing logistics operations. Dress code aligns with a professional, onsite production support setting, suitable for working in coordination with logistics and aviation production activities.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
