The Opportunity

True Mechanical is looking for a Junior Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable professional to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who has strong Excel skills, enjoys working with numbers and systems, and is interested in developing their experience within a growing construction organization.

The successful candidate will support both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and participating in our transition Sage Intacct.

What You'll Do

• Process and enter vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Review invoice coding and supporting documentation
• Assist with matching purchase orders, receipts and invoices
• Support vendor account and statement reconciliations
• Assist with AP aging reviews and payment preparation
• Process and apply customer payments
• Assist with customer account reconciliations
• Support AR aging and collections follow-up
• Assist with billing and other AR administration as required
• Maintain accurate vendor and customer records
• Use Excel to reconcile, organize and analyze financial information
• Assist with data review, validation and cleanup as we transition from Jonas Construction to Sage Intacct
• Learn and become proficient in Sage Intacct, supporting the Finance team through implementation and ongoing use
• Assist with month-end AP and AR reconciliations
• Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Finance team as required

What You Bring

• 1–3 years of accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable or related experience
• Post-secondary education in accounting, finance or business administration is an asset
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, sorting/filtering and working confidently with larger data sets
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail
• Comfortable learning new accounting software and technology
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines
• Good communication and follow-up skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a Finance team
• Experience with Jonas Construction, Sage Intacct or construction accounting is an asset, but not required
