Summary
The Truck Driver is responsible for transporting agricultural equipment and construction machinery using Tandem axle flat deck truck or medium duty truck and trailer combinations. This role requires strong knowledge of BC CVSE regulations, safe load securement practices, and the ability to operate in rural, industrial, and construction environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transport farm machinery (tractors, compact tractors, balers, implements) and construction equipment (mini excavators, skid steers, small loaders), as well as turf products (mowers and RTV's) using tandem flat deck or medium duty truck/trailer setups.
  • Secure loads according to NSC Standard 10 – Cargo Securement and BC CVSE requirements, using chains, binders, straps, and blocking as appropriate.
  • Conduct pre trip, enroute, and post trip inspections in compliance with NSC Standard 13 and CVSE inspection expectations.
  • Follow all Transport Canada, BC Motor Vehicle Act, and CVSE regulations for commercial carriers.
  • Obtain and comply with oversize/overweight permits through CVSE's Online Permitting System (OPP) when required.
  • Use proper oversize signage, flags, and lighting when loads exceed BC dimension thresholds.
  • Operate safely on rural roads, farmyards, construction sites, and uneven terrain.
  • Occasional Yard duties and helping in the shop as required.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks using ELDs when required under federal Hours of Service rules (depending on vehicle weight and operating radius).
  • Communicate with dispatch, sales dept, customers, and site personnel to coordinate pickups and deliveries.
  • Assist with loading/unloading machinery using ramps, tilt decks, or equipment controls when trained and authorized.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Valid Class 1 or Class 3 BC driver's license.
  • Clean driver's abstract meeting insurance requirements.
  • Experience operating tandem flat decks or medium duty truck and trailer combinations.
  • Strong understanding of BC CVSE cargo securement rules, weight limits, and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to safely load, unload, and secure small to mid‑sized machinery.
  • Physical ability to climb onto decks, secure loads, and work outdoors in all weather.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience transporting agricultural or construction machinery within BC.
  • Knuckle Picker experience
  • Forklift Experience
  • Familiarity with CVSE bulletins, BC oversize load requirements, and pilot car rules.
  • Knowledge of rural BC routes, farmyards, and construction sites.
  • Experience with tilt deck trailers, bumper pull equipment trailers, or gooseneck setups.
Work Environment
  • Primarily BC Okanagan and Interior based routes with occasional regional hauls.
  • AG/ Construction Dealership
  • Work in farmyards, construction sites, industrial yards, and remote locations.
  • Early mornings, overtime, and seasonal peak workloads may occur.
  • Occasional overnight trips.

Compensation

  • $26.00 - CA$34.00 per hour and opportunity for overtime
