We're partnering with a growing and well-established organization that is looking to add a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Technician to its team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in building controls, HVAC systems, automation, and BAS programming who enjoys troubleshooting, working in the field, and seeing projects through from installation and commissioning to ongoing service and optimization.

The successful candidate will work on a diverse range of commercial, institutional, healthcare, residential, and industrial buildings, helping ensure that building systems operate efficiently and perform as intended.

This role would be ideal for someone looking to continue developing their technical expertise while gaining exposure to increasingly complex systems, projects, and opportunities for career growth.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Install, configure, program, and commission Building Automation Systems.
  • Troubleshoot and service BAS, HVAC controls, and associated building systems.
  • Perform point-to-point checks, functional testing, and system verification.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to HVAC controls, sensors, actuators, controllers, and field devices.
  • Assist with BAS upgrades, retrofits, and modernization projects.
  • Review control sequences and ensure systems are operating as designed.
  • Perform site visits and interact directly with clients, contractors, and project teams.
  • Support commissioning and start-up activities for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Optimize building performance, occupant comfort, and energy efficiency.
  • Investigate system alarms and respond to operational issues.
  • Complete service reports and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Assist with programming and graphics development where applicable.
  • Coordinate with mechanical contractors, electricians, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Provide technical support and recommendations to clients regarding system operation and upgrades.

What We're Looking For:

  • 4-8+ years of experience working with Building Automation Systems, HVAC controls, or building systems.
  • Experience with BAS platforms such as Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, Delta Controls, Distech Controls, Tridium Niagara, or similar systems is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and building mechanical equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting controllers, sensors, actuators, valves, dampers, VFDs, and related equipment.
  • Understanding of control sequences and building operations.
  • Experience with commissioning and functional testing is an asset.
  • Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Education & Qualifications

The ideal candidate may come from a background in:

A diploma, CET designation, trade background, or equivalent technical experience would be considered an asset.
