Pay: $25–$30/hour, depending on experience
Contract: Minimum 1 month, with potential for extension or permanent employment We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a manufacturing organization in St. Catharines. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong full-cycle payroll experience who is comfortable working in a unionized environment. About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for managing full-cycle weekly payroll for approximately 114 employees, including:

• 100 unionized employees
• 14 salaried employees

The company uses ADP Workforce and is looking for someone who can step in and provide payroll support during a transition period. The organization has recently been acquired by a U.S.-based company, and support and training resources are available. Detailed payroll procedures and instructions have been documented to assist with onboarding and the transition. Key Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle weekly payroll for approximately 114 employees
• Manage payroll for both unionized and salaried employees
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time
• Interpret and apply collective agreements and union requirements
• Handle payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies
• Assist with portions of benefits administration, working alongside the Benefits team
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
• Follow established payroll procedures and written instructions
• Work closely with internal teams and management during the company transition

Qualifications

• Previous full-cycle payroll experience
• Experience using ADP Workforce
• Experience processing weekly payroll
• Experience working in a unionized environment
• Strong understanding of collective agreements
• Manufacturing or mill industry experience is considered a strong asset
• Experience with benefits administration is an asset
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
