Our strength is in our people, embracing a diverse culture, giving employees opportunities to help grow our footprint and expand product offerings and areas of expertise with discipline, dedication and determinationWe invite you to follow your dreams and explore a challenging and rewarding career at Martinrea.Required Education & ExperienceMechanical Engineering Technology diploma/degreeExperience working on Durma and Amada laser cutting machines requiredAbility to read and interpret drawings, (3-D drawings) Good verbal and written communication skills Good organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills Good understanding in Pro-E, AutoCAD and Solidworks software would be an asset2 years of related experience or equivalent Experience in an industrial metal fabrication and assembly environment Ability to work independently without supervision and with minimum directionAbility to work in a team environment and be both a team player and team leaderEssential FunctionsPlan and set-up a production run, ensuring minimum scrap usage and monitoring labor entry.Setting up, calibrating, and aligning laser systems for accurate operationPerforming routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to ensure equipment functionality Conducting laser procedures safely and effectively, following strict safety protocols to protect themselves and others Record and document all the information that is required for a specific job which includes material and part sizes, program number and type of work order Interface with Quality and Engineering Prepares and updates upper management team with any major issue that needs to be resolved Coordinate throughput improvement efforts Assess operator utilization Maximize and monitor capacity planningDemonstrate 5S Methodology in your work areaEnsure compliance with all applicable codes, standards and legislation including Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (with emphasis on Section 28)Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to Health & Safety, Quality & Environmental Systems, HR policies and Martinrea Employee HandbookMust work in accordance with H&S regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and proceduresMust use or wear PPE and certain clothing as required by the CompanyPerform other duties as requiredThis job description is not designed to contain a comprehensive list of duties and responsibilities required for this job.
