We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client in the South End of Guelph. This is a regular Monday-Friday day shift, with a flexible start time. This role is a temporary assignment lasting a few months.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate laser engraving equipment and related software to produce memorial plaques and customized items.
• Prepare digital artwork files for engraving using tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and CorelDRAW.
• Perform image editing, layout adjustments, and design corrections to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Demonstrate strong awareness of different materials (metal, wood, acrylic, etc.) and how they respond to laser processing.
• Conduct detailed quality inspections to ensure finished products meet company standards.
• Monitor laser equipment during operation, make adjustments as needed, and submit maintenance requests when required.
• Follow all safety and compliance procedures, including OSHA guidelines, to maintain a safe working environment.
• Perform basic cleaning and housekeeping duties around the production and engraving workspace.
• Support the operations team with additional tasks as assigned, focusing on technical production and memorial item preparation.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing precise, high-quality work.
• Proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and other digital design tools.
• Technical comfort with laser software and engraving machine operation.
• Material awareness and ability to work with various product surfaces.
• Safety-focused mindset and compliance with workplace safety standards (OSHA).
• Strong problem-solving and quick-thinking abilities.
• Flexible, dependable team player with a positive attitude.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good verbal communication and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
