Assistant Branch Manager – Restoration
Location: Belleville, Ontario

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Branch Manager to join our restoration team in Belleville, Ontario. The successful candidate will assist the Branch Manager with the daily operation of the branch and oversee restoration projects from the initial emergency response through completion.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in property restoration, insurance claims, project management and estimating, with excellent knowledge of Xactimate and restoration management software.
IICRC certification is mandatory for this position.
Key Responsibilities
Branch Operations
- Assist the Branch Manager with the daily operations of the restoration branch.
- Coordinate and oversee emergency restoration projects involving water, fire, smoke and other property damage.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines, budgets and quality standards are maintained.
- Schedule and coordinate technicians, subcontractors, suppliers and equipment.
- Conduct job-site inspections and monitor project progress.
- Ensure projects are completed according to company and DKI standards.
- Assist with resolving operational issues and customer concerns.
- Ensure health, safety and workplace procedures are followed.
Estimating & Insurance Claims
- Prepare accurate and detailed restoration estimates using Xactimate.
- Review estimates, scopes of work, supplements and change orders.
- Work directly with insurance adjusters, homeowners, property managers and other stakeholders.
- Prepare documentation required for insurance claims.
- Maintain accurate job files, photographs, moisture readings, notes and supporting documentation.
- Review project costs and assist with maintaining job profitability.
- Understand insurance claim procedures and restoration industry standards.
Project Management
- Oversee restoration projects from initial loss through completion.
- Ensure technicians and subcontractors follow the approved scope of work.
- Monitor project timelines, labour, materials and equipment.
- Identify additional work and coordinate supplements when required.
- Communicate regularly with customers and insurance representatives regarding project progress.
- Conduct final inspections and ensure customer satisfaction.
Team Leadership
- Assist in supervising and directing restoration technicians and project coordinators.
- Support employee training, development and onboarding.
- Monitor productivity and job performance.
- Promote a professional, respectful and safety-focused work environment.
- Lead by example and support the Branch Manager in achieving branch goals.
Customer & Insurance Partner Relations
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the restoration process.
- Maintain professional relationships with insurance adjusters, property managers, contractors and referral partners.
- Respond promptly to customer questions, concerns and complaints.
- Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers and insurance partners.
- Help develop and maintain strong relationships with DKI referral partners.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in property restoration, construction, insurance claims or a related industry.
- Current IICRC certification is mandatory.
- WRT – Water Restoration Technician certification required.
- FSRT – Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician certification required or willingness to obtain immediately.
- Strong working knowledge of Xactimate is required.
- Experience with XactAnalysis is an asset.
- Experience with other restoration management and estimating software.
- Strong understanding of water, fire/smoke and property restoration procedures.
- Knowledge of insurance claims and estimating processes.
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
- Valid Ontario driver's licence.
- Ability to respond to emergency restoration situations, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Restoration Software & Technology
Experience with the following is considered an asset:
- Xactimate
- XactAnalysis
- Encircle
- DASH
- Matterport
- PSA
- Microsoft 365
- Other restoration project-management and documentation platforms
IICRC Certification
IICRC certification is a mandatory requirement for this position.
Candidates should have:
- WRT – Water Restoration Technician
- FSRT – Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician
Additional IICRC certifications such as ASD, AMRT or OCT would be considered an asset.
