Job Summary
Professional Development Services (PDS) provides advanced technical services and engineering assistance to our global network of customers. For each project, we work closely with the customer to develop the exact solution they need, either by customizing existing Delta products, or by creating custom ones.
These services include:
- Control System Solutions; consultations, engineering services and BAS controller programming
- Software Solutions; application development for customization of enteliWEB (our enterprise web application) and controller loadable Python modules
- User Experience Solutions; interface customization for enteliWEB (enteliVIZ graphics, dashboards, widgets, public kiosks)
- System integration assistance (BACnet, Modbus, other building control protocols, 3rd party device integrations, IoT integrations, room booking software, ODBC interfaces)
- SaaS Deployments using enteliCLOUD or customized cloud connectivity solutions
As a Control System Specialist within our PDS team your tasks will be primarily control system solutions such as project engineering and control programming for our Partners, OEMs, and Corporate Accounts.
Your experience with application engineering allows you to create clear, complete control system solutions drawings and controller application databases as contracted by our customers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The candidate is a solution focused individual who is comfortable working with both internal and external contacts. In your role, you will:
- Work with our Sales team on incoming requests for Control System Solutions.
- Evaluate the feasibility of requests.
- Working with the PDS Project Manager and Control System Solutions Team Lead to develop solution proposals (project scopes and quotes).
- Provide engineering services to meet with the current demand from our distributors. The candidate will initially focus on Control System Solutions and BACnet controller databases for specific building control projects, including:
- Advising customers on preferred product selection for the application
- BAS architecture and network layout
- Provide control drawings and/or controller databases as contracted by the customer
- On occasion travel to sites, locally or via air travel for up to 1 week at a time, to assist customers.
- Provide support for other projects the Professional Development Services group has ongoing or completed.
- Complete projects that meet the high-quality standards and productivity that our customers have come to expect.
Secondary Duties
As part of the Professional Development Services team, the Control System Specialist may be called upon to assist in providing other PDS services as the need arises. These services may include:
- Group planning and internal process development
- Training
- On-site assistance/troubleshooting
- Documentation
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree or Technical Certification from an accredited, applicable, Technologies program, or equivalent experience
- 2 years of experience as an Application Engineer either working with Building Automation (DDC) Control Systems, preferably Delta Controls and/or Loytec Controls
- Strong creative skills and attention to detail, as you will be creating original architectures and designs for control solutions
- Able to complete control services and programming projects with minimal supervision
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities and be flexible in a demanding environment
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Good understanding of HVAC applications and equipment operations, BACnet, networking, control wiring and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications
- Expertise in AutoCAD, Visio or a comparable engineering services software
- Experience with HVAC control systems and networking
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and how they operate
- Knowledge of other building automation technologies or IoT technologies
Work Location: Hybrid (Currently 3 days a week, subject to change)
City: Surrey
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $75,000 - $90,000
This range reflects the minimum and maximum target payable for the base salary of new hires across all Canadian locations. Actual compensation may vary outside this range and is dependent on various factors.
