Job Description:As a member of the Client Accounting Team, this role detailed financial statement packages, account reconciliations, and report analysis for a variety of client accounts. The role closely partners with the Property Accounting leadership team and works cross-functionally with the property management group to meet and exceed client expectations. Salary: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 Job responsibilities: The job duties listed are typical examples of the work performed by positions in this job classification. Not all duties assigned to every position are included, nor is it expected that all positions will be assigned every duty. Financial Management (Primary)
  • Manage a portfolio of ~120 clients to provide oversight on timely distribution of financials and other client deliverables. Inclusive of the following tasks:
    • Provide feedback and revisions to property accountants producing the financial statement packages for the assigned portfolio.
    • Analyze variances and financial position and make recommendations from findings.
    • Review monthly Financial Statement packages for assigned portfolio of Condominium and/or Homeowners Associations following the standards established by FirstService Residential.
    • Investigate issues identified during financial statement review and prepare a summary of corrective actions/instructions to the property accountant responsible for production of the financial statements.
    • Complete regularly scheduled business/financial reviews for assigned portfolio.
    • Provide assistance and guidance to property management group to resolve issues or questions related to the financial operations for the assigned portfolio.
    • Attend Board meetings to provide support on complex financial matters and/or provide an overview of the financial performance of the property.
    • Assist with and facilitate annual budgets and year end audits.
  • Collaborate with cross departmental teams (cash management, contract management, insurance, etc.) to review products and programs in place for assigned clients and support in maximizing value for the client.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly Financial Statement packages as needed for specific Condominium and/or Homeowners Associations following the standards established by FirstService Residential. Inclusive of the following tasks:
  • Reconcile and manage bank accounts.
  • Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Analyze the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Investment Reports for each account to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare and post journal entries to the General Ledger. Review periodic reports of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and correct errors prior to close of accounting period.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze transactions from Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable to ensure they have been accurately coded and recorded. Identify, investigate, resolve, and/or report on discrepancies.
  • Prepare additional financial reports requested by the Client to be included in the Financial Package or provided to the Community Association Manager and/or BOD.

  • May participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by management.

Knowledge Skills & Proficiencies

  • Experience in preparing and analyzing financial statements
  • Strong ability to explain financial reports and procedures to Association Managers
  • Knowledge of GAAP is preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to investigate and problem solve
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a variety of settings; verbally and written
