It may involve revising work instructions, conducting time studies, making improvements to process flow, and training operators on new processes and problem-solving quality issuesEducation, Experience and Skills:Enrolled in University or College level program in Industrial, Mechanical or Quality EngineeringMinimum one year of studies completedExcellent English communication skills (verbal and written)Excellent organizational and time management skillsMust possess problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skillsMust be energetic and self-motivatedExperience in a manufacturing environment would be an assetAble to communicate and work with fellow employees in a professional and respectful mannerMajor Responsibilities:Perform standardized work studiesReview work instructions at the work cellsObserve job functions performed by operators and compare to the work instructionsInterview operators as necessary to clarify methods used to perform tasksPerform job function as per work instructions and input of operatorsMaintain key performance indicatorsAssist Quality Engineers on launching activities of new products Update work instructions to reflect changesAssist quality and production staff with documentationConduct other special projects during work term as designatedPerform in-process/first off/last-off inspection of product and inform the quality lead hand/Supervisor and production supervisor of any discrepancies for defective product found in the manufacturing process Ensure that all Inspection Data Sheets are filled in properlyPerform capability, gauge R &R studies, and Quality testing as requiredAssist in sample preparation and implementation of boundary samples etc. including training and/or retraining of personnel as requiredEnsure that all measurement tools and gages for products are maintained in proper working order and are always kept cleanDocumentation, auditing and record keeping of Quality documents, i.e. SPC charts, audit sheets, logs, Quality Alerts etc.Work on problem solving of internal quality issues Effectively communicating with Operators and other Quality personnel to meet and maintain Quality standards Martinrea International Inc. is proud to provide employment accommodation during the recruitment process. The role is a 4-month co-op and is a full-time position.
Applicants should be enrolled in a university or college program in Industrial, Mechanical, or Quality Engineering with a minimum of one year of studies completed.
