Our client is a leading global specialty geotechnical contractor that delivers innovative foundation and ground engineering solutions for complex infrastructure, commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects. With a strong reputation for technical expertise, safety, and project execution, they are seeking a Project Controller to join their growing team.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Project Management team, the Project Controller will play a critical role in supporting the successful execution of major infrastructure projects by overseeing project controls, cost management, scheduling, reporting, and performance monitoring. Working closely with Project Managers and project teams, you will help ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with organizational objectives.

This position supports a major infrastructure project in Kitimat, British Columbia, and follows a Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) schedule of 10 days on site followed by 5 days off. Flights, accommodations, meals, and camp are provided while on rotation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Project Managers and project teams by managing project controls, schedules, and cost tracking.
  • Prepare and lead internal and client-facing project reporting for multiple active projects.
  • Develop and maintain project control plans, project dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Monitor project costs, schedules, forecasts, and resource utilization while identifying potential risks and recommending corrective actions.
  • Support project change management activities and maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools that improve project visibility and decision-making.
  • Work closely with Project Delivery teams to identify opportunities to improve project performance and maintain budget targets.
  • Assist with planning and tracking internal resource requirements, including labour and equipment.
  • Support the development and delivery of project controls training and best practices across the organization.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of project controls policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate reporting, forecasting, and project performance analysis.
  • Travel to project sites as required while promoting a strong commitment to health, safety, and continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience as a Project Controller, Project Controls Analyst, Cost Controller, Project Analyst, or similar role within construction, heavy civil, mining, industrial, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of project controls, cost management, scheduling, forecasting, and project reporting.
  • Experience developing project dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with project controls, ERP, scheduling, or project management software is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Ability and willingness to work a 10 days on / 5 days off Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) rotation to Kitimat, BC.
  • Comfortable working in a remote camp environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
