THE ROLE

Our client is a rapidly growing Vancouver-based advisory firm that helps organizations build trust in their processes, technology, and data. Working with both public and private companies, they deliver innovative advisory services across technology risk, IT audit, internal controls, SOC reporting, AI-enabled assurance, and emerging technologies. As the firm continues to grow, they are seeking a Senior Associate, Technology Risk & Advisory to join their collaborative and forward-thinking team.

As a Senior Associate, Technology Risk & Advisory, you will play a key role in delivering IT audit, technology risk, internal audit, and advisory engagements for a diverse client base. You'll work alongside experienced leaders, gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies, and help clients strengthen their technology control environments while developing your own technical and consulting expertise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the delivery of IT audit, technology risk, internal audit, and ICFR/SOX engagements across a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Perform IT General Controls (ITGC) testing, including logical access, change management, IT operations, and third-party controls.
  • Evaluate control design and operating effectiveness while preparing high-quality workpapers, reports, and client deliverables.
  • Identify technology risks, control gaps, and process improvement opportunities, providing practical recommendations to clients.
  • Participate in client walkthroughs, interviews, evidence gathering, and engagement planning activities.
  • Collaborate with managers and leadership to deliver exceptional client service and manage multiple priorities.
  • Contribute to practice innovation through AI, automation, data analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT Audit, Technology Risk, Internal Audit, IT Controls, or Technology Assurance.
  • CPA, CISA, CIA, CISSP, CRISC, or a related professional designation (completed or in progress) is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of IT General Controls (ITGCs), SOX/NI 52-109, SOC reporting, and governance frameworks such as COBIT, COSO, ISO 27001, or NIST.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements while building strong client relationships.
  • Passion for technology, cybersecurity, AI, automation, and continuous learning.
