About the Job:
The Coeur Silvertip mine located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border is seeking a Water Treatment Operator to work in a camp-based environment rotating on a two week in/two week out shift rotation.
Responsibilities:
- Operation of Water Treatment Plant;
- Handle and mix reagents according to Safe Operating Procedures and BC Mines Act;
- Must be willing to work night shift;
- Must be able to work unsupervised;
- Capable of running samples though the lab in the WTP;
- Monitor the mill tailings circuit discharge;
- Perform pre-operational checks, and operate equipment according to Safe Operating Procedures;
- Monitor equipment and processes and ensure equipment deficiencies and operational issues are reported clearly and quickly;
- Conduct troubleshooting activities when problems arise;
- Complete Operator Report Sheets, computerized data entry, and Daily Logbook.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Operating of a water treatment plant;
- 3 years' operating experience in a water treatment plant;
- Mining industry experience desired;
- Valid driver's license;
- Physically fit to perform the duties of the position;
- Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce.
Additional Information:
- Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.
- Eligible for monthly bonus.
- Our current designated marshalling locations are Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Calgary, Edmonton, Whitehorse, Teslin, and Watson Lake.
