THE OPPORTUNITY:

On behalf of our industry leading civil construction client, we are looking to add a Mechanical Coordinator (Water/Wastewater) to their dynamic team.

THE ROLE:

Working alongside Project Managers, Superintendents, consultants, subcontractors, and owners, you'll help ensure mechanical and electrical scopes are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

As the Mechanical Coordinator, you'll be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of mechanical systems throughout the project lifecycle, including:

  • Coordinating mechanical and electrical activities with subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Reviewing construction progress to ensure quality, schedule, and project requirements are being met.
  • Managing RFIs, shop drawings, equipment tracking, and technical documentation.
  • Monitoring procurement activities and expediting critical equipment deliveries.
  • Supporting project planning, scheduling, and forecasting for mechanical work.
  • Assisting with budgeting, pricing changes, and reviewing subcontractor quotations.
  • Coordinating commissioning activities, start-up, testing, and owner training.
  • Tracking deficiencies and helping drive projects through successful closeout.
  • Working closely with project leadership to proactively identify and resolve construction challenges before they impact the schedule.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • P.Eng. or C.E.T. designation is considered an asset.
  • 4+ years of experience coordinating mechanical systems on construction projects.
  • Experience working on water, wastewater, industrial, or heavy civil infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical construction processes, equipment installation, and commissioning.
  • Experience reviewing shop drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam or similar construction software.
