Job ProfileThe Field Service Technician performs mechanical and electrical service work on full range of Prairie Machine and Rokion Mining Equipment. They will travel on-site to troubleshoot and perform field repairs, as necessary. When there is no Field Work, they will carry out repair tasks in the Service Department. The Service Technician will be able to interpret Engineering advice and use this to practically solve any Electrical or Mechanical Issues to the customers satisfaction.Primary Responsibilities
  • Understand the detailed mechanical and electrical workings of all Prairie Machine products
  • Assess malfunctioning mechanical/electrical modules and determine the cause of the failure
  • Perform quality repairs with a keen attention to detail
  • Accurately communicate with the customer and our own engineers to ensure information is shared with all parties
  • Provide input/feedback to the Prairie Machine design team as it pertains to the serviceability and longevity of products
  • Assist production staff as required
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports
  • Up to 70% of travel may be required

Qualifications
  • Completion of Grade 12 or GED; automotive or electrical trade is preferred
  • 1-2 years of field service experience
  • Ability to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
  • Experience with MS Office, basic programming knowledge
  • Valid Class 5 driver's licence
