General Labourer Civil Projects (Project Term)

SRG is looking for dependable and enthusiastic Labourers to join our Civil Division Team. Reporting to the Straw Boss you will perform work outdoors in all weather conditions. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a physically demanding environment and collaborating with crew members to complete a variety of civil construction projects safely and efficiently.

Work will be performed across multiple project locations including Hinton, Jasper, Valemount, Clearwater, and Kamloops. Candidates must be able and willing to travel between these locations as required.

This is a project-term opportunity starting immediately, with an anticipated completion date of November 30, 2026, or upon completion of the project, whichever occurs first.

The schedule for this position is 14 days on and 7 days off, with shifts of up to 12 hours per day.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • 12 years of experience in a labourer or comparable construction-related role preferred
  • Physically capable of performing demanding manual labour in outdoor environments
  • Sound knowledge of operational procedures, workplace safety practices, and applicable regulations
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and mechanical reasoning skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
  • Must be able and willing to travel throughout the project area, including Hinton, Jasper, Valemount, Clearwater, and Kamloops
  • Ability to work a rotational schedule of 14 days on and 7 days off, with shifts of up to 12 hours per day
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts as required

In this role you will:

  • Operate hand and power tools effectively
  • Maintain work areas and project sites
  • Load, unload, and move materials and equipment
  • Clean and prepare sites for daily operations
  • Dig trenches and perform general excavation support work
  • Assist with repairs and maintenance activities as required
  • Identify and report hazards, incidents, or unsafe work practices
  • Fuel equipment and machinery as required
  • Assist heavy equipment operators by securing attachments, guiding equipment movements, and providing general support
  • Participate in pre-job toolbox meetings to identify hazards and implement control measures
  • Correct unsafe actions when observed and report unsafe conditions to supervisors
  • Clean, maintain, and return tools and equipment to designated storage areas
  • Wear and properly utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Support project goals through safe and productive work practices
  • Perform other duties as assigned
