Job Summary

The Materials Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the inventory, tracking, and distribution of materials and supplies required for daily operations. This role acts as a vital bridge between procurement, the warehouse, and project teams to ensure that all necessary parts and materials are available when needed, preventing project delays while maintaining cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Monitor, track, and maintain accurate inventory levels of materials, parts, and equipment using inventory management software.
  • Shipping & Receiving: Oversee the receipt of incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders and packing slips, and log items into the system.
  • Material Allocation: Coordinate the internal distribution of materials to various departments, technicians, or project sites based on scheduled demands.
  • Vendor Coordination: Interface with suppliers and logistics providers to track orders, address discrepancies, manage returns, and expedite urgent shipments.
  • Quality & Compliance: Inspect incoming materials for damage or defects, ensuring everything meets company quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Reporting: Generate regular inventory reports, conduct physical audits (cycle counts), and flag potential shortages or surpluses to management.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 2–4 years of experience in materials coordination, inventory control, logistics, or warehouse operations.
  • Education: High school diploma required; a post-secondary degree or certification in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is a strong asset.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong familiarity with inventory management software (ERP/MRP systems) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Skills: * Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle shifting priorities.
  • Optional/Physical: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate standard warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) if required by the specific site.
