Job Summary:

The Shipper is responsible for ensuring that products move smoothly through the supply chain. The Shipper plays a vital role in the automotive manufacturing process by ensuring that products are delivered on time, in good condition and in compliance with all relevant guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Plan and coordinate transportation of parts from the manufacturing facility to dealers, customers or other destinations.
  • Generate and review shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, and export/import documentation.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
  • Oversee the storage and handling of parts in the warehouse to maintain organization and prevent damage.
  • Handle any issues related to damaged or incorrect shipments.
  • Provide updates regarding shipment status and address any shipping related inquiries.
  • Keep accurate records of shipments, including trac king information, deliver confirmations, and any related documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to industry regulations and company policies related to shipping and logistics.

Job Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Additional education in logistics, supply chain management or a related field is beneficial.
  • 1-2 years prior experience in shipping, receiving, logistics, or supply chain. Prior experience in the automotive manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Experience with software tools used for managing shipping and inventory, such as ERP systems or transportation management systems.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and moving goods and standing or walking for extended periods.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and ensure timely delivery while keeping accurate records.
  • Attention to detail for checking shipping documents, inspecting goods, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills to interact effectively with team members, carriers, customers and other stakeholders.
