Job Details:
The purpose of the Service Technician role is to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of the Hypex Bio operational units at customer sites by executing installation, maintenance, and repair activities in accordance with defined technical procedures and standards. The role acts as a key technical link between the
organisation and its customers by providing hands-on service support, preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs, while delivering technical training to ensure correct and compliant use of the equipment.
- Install, commission, service, repair, and maintain Hypex Bio operational units at customer sites in accordance with approved technical procedures and safety standards.
- Perform planned and preventive maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance, reliability, and availability.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults on operational units and carry out corrective actions within defined service scope.
- Provide hands-on technical support to customers and site personnel, including training on the correct operation, basic care, and safe use of equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections, testing, and calibration of equipment to ensure compliance with operational, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify equipment-related issues, risks, or non-conformances and escalate application, performance, or design-related matters to the Application Technician or Application Team as required.
- Maintain accurate service records, maintenance logs, and technical reports in line with company and regulatory requirements.
- Support site readiness and operational continuity by responding to breakdowns and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Comply with all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements related to explosives, equipment operation, and customer site standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support continuous improvement of service processes, equipment reliability, and customer support practices.
Knowledge and Experience
- At least 4 years' of demonstrated experience in an underground explosives Mining environment
- Demonstrated knowledge of performing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to train new equipment operators
- Welding experience
- High School Diploma
- Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical tertiary qualification/certification
- Underground Blasting Certificate
- ADR Certification
- C or CE license, BE, and YKB Certification
- Valid Drivers Licence
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
