Mechanical Assembler

Location: Hamilton, ON

Shift: Day Shift – Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Pay Rate: $26.50/hour

Start Date: ASAP

Arrow Workforce Solutions is currently hiring a Mechanical Assembler for a leading heavy industrial manufacturing environment in Hamilton.

This position is ideal for candidates with mechanical assembly, millwright, pipe fitting, or construction experience who enjoy working with large industrial equipment and interpreting engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, diagrams, specifications, and tolerances.
  • Assemble simple and complex mechanical components according to drawings and product specifications.
  • Install major components such as tanks, dampers, structural frames, generators, louvers, insulation systems, soundproofing systems, and building panels.
  • Thread, fit, and install piping and pipe spools using assembly drawings.
  • Assist with rigging, hoisting, positioning, and alignment of large assemblies using overhead cranes and forklifts.
  • Handle, load, unload, and transport materials using forklifts, cranes, tow motors, and other material handling equipment.
  • Perform onsite installation, commissioning, servicing, and warranty-related repairs when required.
  • Assist with documentation and support engineering change requests by providing assembly feedback.
  • Follow all company safety policies and participate in safety meetings and inspections.
  • Conduct visual inspections of cranes, forklifts, tools, and equipment before use.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of mechanical assembly experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Experience assembling large industrial equipment, structures, or machinery.
  • Pipe fitting, construction, or millwright experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience using hand tools and power tools.
  • Experience with overhead cranes, rigging, and forklifts is preferred.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
