Strategic Advisor
Our client is seeking a Planning Strategic Advisor to provide strategic leadership in advancing operational excellence across Planning, Development, and Engineering Services. This role focuses on leading organizational improvement initiatives, optimizing development processes, and driving cross-departmental collaboration to enhance efficiency, consistency, and service outcomes. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in project management, change management, and process improvement, along with the ability to influence stakeholders and support long-term organizational goals.
Your success will be defined by your ability to:
  • Lead the implementation of strategic initiatives that enhance Planning, Development, and Engineering Services
  • Drive operational excellence through process evaluation, optimization, and innovation
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end development lifecycle and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Manage projects, timelines, and deliverables to ensure successful execution of organizational priorities
  • Facilitate collaboration across departments and build alignment among diverse stakeholders
  • Support organizational change initiatives by promoting engagement, accountability, and adoption of new practices
  • Leverage data, performance metrics, and research to inform decision-making and measure outcomes
  • Develop and maintain effective procedures, documentation, and operational standards
  • Provide strategic recommendations that improve service delivery, efficiency, and stakeholder experience
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the organization
Your strengths include:
  • Bachelor's degree in Planning, Geography, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in strategic planning, project management, process improvement, or land development
  • Strong understanding of business planning, policy development, and performance measurement
  • Experience leading projects, process improvement initiatives, and organizational change efforts
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and build relationships across diverse teams
  • Experience using data and performance metrics to support strategic decisions
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, process mapping, or continuous improvement methodologies is an asset
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, Change Management, APPI, or P.Eng are considered assets
