Office Administrator

Galaxy Plastics is looking for an Office Assistant to fill a short-term 6 month full-time, contractual position.Galaxy Plastics was established in 1990, finding its roots in supplying fabricated fittings for the hydro and telephone industry to a small regional market. Over the years Galaxy Plastics expanded its manufacturing capabilities to become a leader in the water and wastewater field for fabricated Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) fittings.As an Office Assistant, you play a vital role in supporting financial and office operations, ensuring accuracy in all documentation within a manufacturing environment.This is a great opportunity for a talented professional to help us further unlock Galaxy Plastics potential, while continuing to unlock their own. Job Duties:

• Filing and maintaining Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) documents.
• Assisting with invoice data entry and general administrative duties.
• Supporting office personnel with day-to-day operations.
• Operating general office equipment and machines.
• Maintaining and organizing filing systems and records.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation and area.
• Support the department with additional duties as required.

Physical Demands:

• Primarily sedentary work, involving prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, and other office equipment.
• Standing, sitting, pacing, and walking within the office environment.
• Regular visual focus required for reviewing documents, spreadsheets, and data entry with a high level of accuracy (close vision and attention to detail).
• Occasional lifting and carrying of light office materials (e.g., files, boxes of documents), typically up to 10–15 lbs.
• Ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motions, such as typing and data entry.
• May require minimal reaching, bending, or stretching to access files or office equipment.
• Occasional deadlines may require extended periods of concentration or working at a computer for longer durations.

Additional:

• Participate in and further the Company's health & safety program.
• Report equipment malfunctions immediately.
• Offer suggestions for process improvement.
• Other duties that are assigned and maybe required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in an office setting preferred.
• Knowledge of Sage 300 ERP is an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Shift:

• Onsite, in-person
• Monday to Friday.
• 9am to 5pm.
