Communications Technician - BHP Jansen (14/7 Rotation)

This role is ideal for a skilled technician who thrives in an industrial construction environment and is comfortable working on a remote rotational schedule. You will support the installation, testing, and maintenance of communications infrastructure critical to site operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Structured cabling installation including Cat6/Cat6A, fiber optic termination, testing, and certification
• Network equipment installation: switches, wireless access points, cabinets, racks
• Industrial communications systems setup and troubleshooting
• Perform site surveys, documentation, and as-built updates
• Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to a strong safety culture
• Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years experience as a Communications/Low-Voltage Technician
• Experience in industrial or large-scale construction environments
• Valid SCOT, CSTS, or equivalent safety certifications
• Valid Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, and Confined Space (asset)
• Ability to work a 14/7 rotational schedule at a remote site
• Strong understanding of fiber optics, copper cabling, and network hardware
• Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills
