The successful candidate is a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in delivering specification-grade surface profiles and high-quality finishes. Experience as a spray foam applicator is considered a strong asset and opens the door to broader project responsibility, additional billable hours, and a path into a dual-trade role with the team.What You'll Do
- Perform abrasive blasting on industrial equipment, structural steel, tanks, vessels, and piping to specified surface profiles
- Conduct surface preparation including cleaning, masking, profile checks, and environmental readings prior to coating
- Set up, operate, and maintain blasting equipment, compressors, pots, hoses, and air supply systems
- Read and interpret blasting and coating specifications, work orders, and technical data sheets
- Maintain blasting media, environmental, and quality control logs as required by the project
- Perform daily equipment inspections, troubleshoot common issues, and complete minor repairs
- Operate safely in confined spaces, at heights, and in remote camp environments
- Where qualified, support or perform spray polyurethane foam (SPF) application as project needs require
- Travel to remote project sites for camp-based rotations as scheduled
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inspection-ready work area in both shop and field settings
- Follow all GrizzlyTrek and client site safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
- Proven industrial sandblasting experience including surface profiling and quality inspection
- Valid H2S Alive certification
- Valid Standard First Aid certification
- Valid Confined Space Entry certification
- Valid Fall Protection certification
- Class 5 driver's license (Air Brake endorsement preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of surface preparation standards, blasting media, and environmental conditions
- Ability to read and interpret technical data sheets, blueprints, and project specifications
- Comfortable working in remote camp environments on rotational schedules
- Physically capable of lifting equipment, climbing, and working in confined spaces
- Strong attention to detail, quality-focused, and committed to a zero-incident safety culture
- Spray polyurethane foam (SPF) application experience
- SPFA PCP (Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance Professional Certification Program) credentials
- NACE or SSPC coating inspector or applicator certifications
- Experience with high-performance industrial coatings (epoxy, urethane, zinc-rich, intumescent)
- Aerial Work Platform, Boom Lift, or Scissor Lift certifications
- WHMIS 2015 and TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) certifications
- CSTS-2020, OSSA, or Energy Safety Canada Common Safety Orientation
- Previous experience with oil and gas, mining, or pipeline projects
