Construction Safety Officer

We are seeking an experienced Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to join our dynamic team. This role supports major residential and commercial projects, including high-rise towers up to 40 stories and large-scale woodframe developments. You will be a proactive safety leader, working closely with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and foster a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement site-specific safety plans in alignment with project requirements.
• Advise subcontractors on safety best practices and compliance.
• Conduct site inspections, hazard assessments, and ensure adherence to OH&S regulations.
• Manage the HammerTech safety platform for documentation and reporting.
• Oversee confined space safety protocols for concrete operations.
• Build strong relationships with site supervisors, trades, and project stakeholders.
• Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective actions.
• Shadow senior safety personnel during onboarding and transition to independent site leadership.

• 5+ years as a CSO in residential or commercial construction.
• Experience on high-rise projects (up to 40 stories) and/or large woodframe projects.
• CSO designation required and NCSO in progress preferred.
• Advanced First Aid – Level 3 certification.

• Strong knowledge of HammerTech and digital safety systems.
• Hands-on construction experience is highly valued.
• Expertise in confined space safety for concrete work.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
• Familiarity with compliance software like ProCore and SALUS.

Assigned to one project at a time, with an average duration of 24 months per project. Work shifts are Monday to Friday, with start times between 6am and 11am, typically 8-hour days. Depending on the size of the CSO team per site, you may occasionally work 10-12 hour days and Saturdays. Shifts may extend to 7pm, with overlap with other CSOs. Projects are located across the Lower Mainland, requiring reliable transportation. Pay parking is available downtown, and most projects are accessible by SkyTrain.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $40.00/hr.
