Role Overview:

We are looking for a Corporate & Real Estate Law Clerk to join our Ottawa team. This position is perfect for a proactive, detail-oriented professional who excels in a flexible, tech-enabled environment. You will play a key role in supporting our corporate and real estate teams, facilitating complex transactions, and ensuring exceptional client service. We are seeking candidates with 25 years of relevant experience to contribute their expertise to our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support TAAG Laws corporate and real estate teams.
  • Coordinate and conduct due diligence for real estate and M&A closings.
  • Maintain corporate minute books and prepare annual return filings.
  • Draft engagement letters and manage client onboarding.
  • Assist with the execution of wills and powers of attorney.
  • Support client and file management, including compliance-related tasks.

Required Skills:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Accountable, proactive, and independent.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • English proficiency (required); French proficiency (an asset).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Teraview (asset).
  • Familiarity with Clio (asset).
  • Working knowledge of title review and mortgage processing (asset).
  • Commercial real estate conveyancing experience (asset).

Preferred Experience (some or all):

  • Corporate record and minute book management.
  • Real estate and M&A closing support.
  • Client onboarding and file management.
  • Assisting with securities filings.
