Background Information
The government has initiated an ambitious multi-year plan to eliminate health care related faxing and other forms of paper communication in the province. This initiative has had several names including Axe the Fax and Modernized Provider Communications, but is now known as Patients before Paperwork (Pb4P).
As part of the Pb4P initiative, Ontario Healths (OH) mandate is to develop an integrated clinical process that includes digital communication tools for exchanging referrals, performing consults, ordering lab results, diagnostic imaging test, and central intake processes. The goal is to achieve full spread of an integrated clinical approach and seamless digital solutions over the next five years.
Deliverables include but are not limited to:
· Site / Client Engagement and Client Management
· Site Contract Management
· Site/Virtual Training and Troubleshooting
· Project Go-live Schedule per Clinical Site
· Project Risk/Issue Management
· Service Management and Project Documentation
· Deployment Reporting and Tracking
Responsibilities:
The Senior Project Manager/Lead is responsible for leading and supporting the eReferral future state initiatives, including management of issues, risks and service change requests to ensure successful and on-time deployment of the projects.
· Manages all aspects of PCCG (Provincial Care Coordination Gateway) project to ensure delivery of project is on time, in scope and within budget, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, efficiencies and compliance with agile project management methodologies and frameworks
· Engage with internal and external stakeholders; handle client relationships to manage expectations
· Gather and develop requirements in order to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan.
· Proactively identify potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed; identify potential conflicts between project and functional areas
· Work closely with teams at Ontario Health , such as Ontario Healths Identity and Access Management Service (ONE ID), the Ontario Health Service Desk, ONE Access Gateway team and eReferral Product team to support deployments/clients
· Articulate and prioritize issues and risks and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers
· Facilitate training of end-users and distribution of materials and job aids; develop documents and support materials as required
· Use appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects concept, definition, planning, implementation and close-out
· Ensure pre Go-live readiness: technical, configuration, workflow modifications
· Provide go-live, troubleshooting and first 72 hours Warranty support pilot sites; facilitate transition to Operations
· Develop project status reports, deployment reporting/tracking and maintaining and monitoring status reporting logs for stakeholders within Ontario Health and the regions
· Update and monitor project document repository within MS Teams to ensure all documents are developed, reviewed and maintained in the repository
Must-Have's:
- 7+ years of experience with and knowledge of Project Management concepts in managing electronic health-related projects, ideally with experience deploying clinical software systems (e.g. project goals, risk, scope, participant roles, planning and quality management)
- 7+ years of experience, Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, and strong stakeholder engagement skills
- 7+ years of experience with vendor management; ability to balance competing priorities to maintain good vendor relationships while hold them accountable to project deliverables
- 7+ years of experience, ability to manage tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects
Nice-to-Have's:
- Experience managing integration projects leveraging HL7 (Health Level Seven) and FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources)
- Public Sector experience
