You are an Account Executive, Health PR.

Ready to jumpstart your career in Public Relations? We're on the lookout for a vibrant, motivated and accountable Account Executive to join our Health PR team! As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for supporting our healthcare and pharmaceutical accounts with a focus on media (earned and paid) and influencer relations, content development, social media channel management, media monitoring, research, and analysis, issues management and stakeholder engagement. We're looking for a team player who is committed to results and supporting Canada's highly regulated healthcare system.

You've got a degree under your belt, some PR training, and ideally, experience at an agency or in corporate communications. You have a passion for health communications (healthcare sector, health and wellness industry, non-profit health initiatives), are curious about the media and influencer world, eager to soak up knowledge, and driven to make an impact. Plus, you can handle deadlines like a pro, prioritize with ease, and approach every challenge with a problem-solving mindset.

  • Strong appetite and enthusiasm for learning and building new skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and be agile. You will be required to build a strong knowledge base of Health Canada, PAAB and ASC regulations governing life science industry communications.

What are your responsibilities? As an Account Executive, you will support client programs, which may include:

  • Earned media relations (English and French)
    • Building targeted media lists
    • Providing ideas to support personal, powerful media pitches
    • Media pitching and interview coordination
    • Monitoring for media coverage and sharing clips with clients
    • Maintaining relationships with journalists post-coverage
  • Content development
  • Influencer/ creator relations planning and execution
  • Campaign planning and activation
  • Writing, editing and proofreading
  • Media monitoring and reporting
  • Research and analysis
  • Supporting issues management
  • Project critical path management
  • Client communications and meetings
  • Translation of media pitch materials and other supporting client documents

You will also support the team, including:

  • Collaborating effectively with colleagues
  • Supporting senior staff and managing client communications when needed
  • Participating in team and company meetings and events
  • Presenting to internal and external audiences
  • Contribute to new business development through research and content development
  • Participating in ongoing learning and development opportunities

What type of person should I be?

  • Public Relations or relevant, bachelor's degree or associate post-graduate certificate
  • Bilingual capabilities in French is a required asset
  • 1+ years' experience at agency or corporate communications experience
  • Strong understanding of the media and influencer landscape
  • Demonstrable experience delivering earned media results and creating effective sponsored media content
  • Solid understanding of, and ideally experience with, key issues related to Canada's healthcare sector and related regulatory landscape is an asset
  • Strong written skills and can communicate clearly and concisely via email, Teams or other communication channels
