About the Role:
We're seeking a skilled Door Technician with mechanical aptitude and welding experience to support the installation, repair, and maintenance of doors, gates, and dock systems. Approximately 20% of the work will require out-of-town travel, including underground projects. All required training and site certifications will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair commercial/industrial doors, gate systems, and dock equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Utilize welding and mechanical skills for on-site repairs and modifications
- Maintain vehicle and equipment inventory readiness
- Accurately record time logs, service notes, and completion details
- Deliver professional customer support to clients and contractors
- Comply with all safety standards and workplace protocols
- Participate in ongoing training and development sessions
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience working with mechanical systems, doors, gates, or similar equipment
- Welding experience required (certification is a plus but not mandatory)
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Skilled with power tools and capable of physical, hands-on work
- Comfortable working at heights and in various weather conditions
- Flexible and adaptable to changing job sites and schedules
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a background check
