Position Title: HR Generalist 3-Month Contract (Extension Possible)

Department: Operations

Direct Supervisor: COO

Position Purpose: The HR Generalist supports Sinclair Supply Ltd. by executing day-to-day HR functions across all 16 branches with a focus on recruitment, compliance, health & safety program support. The HR Generalist serves as a trusted partner to employees and managers, ensuring recruitment deadlines are met and policies are followed while fostering a positive and productive workplace.

Responsibilities (Typical functions):

Recruitment

  • Execute efficient recruitment procedures for all 16 branches.
  • Ensure approval documentation is completed and post positions timely and strategically to get best candidates applying.
  • Fill open roles within agreed-upon time-to-hire targets.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify recruiting needs and develop role scorecards.
  • Conduct regular wage studies and job description reviews, recommending adjustments based on market data.

Policy & Compliance

  • Maintain up-to-date HR policies and ensure compliance.
  • Interpret and apply employment legislation and best practices.
  • Ensure HR processes are consistent, fair, and aligned with company values.

Health & Safety Support

  • Coordinate work-related and non-work-related injury/illness claims.
  • Partner with appropriate parties to develop return-to-work plans and track modified duties.
  • Assist with the administration of health and safety programs and metrics.

HR Reporting

  • Report on KPI training and HR Metrics.

Employee Relations

  • Provide conflict resolution guidance to employees and managers, including termination support.

Other Duties

  • Support internal and external events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Working towards CHRP designation
  • Minimum 3 years of recruiting experience.
  • Experience in HR policy development and implementation.
  • Proven ability to interpret and comply with employment standards and HR best practices.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with BambooHR or ADP is an asset.

This is a temporary, 3-month contract position, requiring 40 hours per week in the office, with a possible extension. Remote work is not available.
