Job Details:
Vision Integrity Engineering Ltd. (VIE) is looking for a Process Engineer with a minimum of 10 years experience and is registered with APEGA.The role is contractual and based on billable time on a per hour basis. The successful candidate would support the team from a process engineering perspective in conducting integrity and design related projects for clients. The role and responsibilities of the successful candidate include:
- Provide process specifications for the design and operation of equipment.
- Complete budget estimation and commit to timeline and cost of process engineering related projects.
- Able to liaise with clients clearly and concisely and capable of preparing technical and progress reports.
- Capable of meeting both VIE and client expectations and requirements.
- Able to work independently or cooperatively.
Role is a combined remote and office based with a possibility of site visits. Office presence will depend on the discretion of the manager and project being worked on. Applicant must ideally be based out of Calgary or within 1 hour.
Required Qualifications / Experience:
- 10 or more years experience in process engineering related activities in oil and gas facilities.
- Registered with APEGA and in good standing.
- Competently prepare, review and revise as needed PFDs, P&IDs, Heat & Material Balances, equipment data sheets, Control Philosophies / Narratives, as well as Shut Down Keys.
- OPP system design and sizing of pressure relief systems.
- Strong understanding of CSA, API and ASME requirements and application.
- Strong understanding of ABSA and TSBC/BCER requirements.
- Strong understanding of HAZOPs, PHAs and similar reviews.
- Familiar with process simulation software (ex. HYSYS, Symmetry, Promax, Pipesim, etc.) and have spreadsheet tools to complete evaluations.
- Understand the cost implications of recommendations vs client expectations.
