Job Summary:

At Food World Supermarket, we are looking for an experienced and passionate Indian Cuisine Cook who specializes in tandoor dishes, Indian breads (kulcha, puri, bhatura), and traditional curries. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of Indian cooking techniques, ingredients, and spices, with a focus on maintaining authentic taste, hygiene, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook Indian dishes including:

    • Tandoori items (naan, roti, kebabs, paneer tikka, tandoori chicken, etc.)

    • Indian breads (kulcha, puri, bhature, paratha, etc.)

    • Curries and gravies (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian).

  • Maintain consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.

  • Operate and maintain tandoor ovens and cooking equipment safely.

  • Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen area at all times.

  • Manage food prep, marination, dough, and mise en place for daily service.

  • Follow standard recipes, portion sizes, and minimize wastage.

  • Check freshness and quality of ingredients before use.

  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the kitchen manager for replenishment.

  • Comply with all food safety and sanitation regulations.

  • Assist in menu planning and development of new dishes.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (2–5 years) as a Cook / Tandoor Chef / Indian Cuisine Specialist.

  • Strong knowledge of North Indian cuisine, especially tandoor and bread preparation.

  • Familiar with spice blends, marination techniques, and curry bases.

  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety standards (FSSAI or equivalent).

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Culinary training or certificate (preferred but not mandatory).
