CI Wealth is seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Regional Vice President, Business Development to lead advisor growth and engagement across Western Canada. This role supports CI's multi-channel advisor network—including Assante Wealth Management, Aligned Capital Partners, and other affiliated platforms—by attracting high-performing advisory teams, deepening relationships with existing advisors, succession planning, and book acquisition opportunities and promoting CI's integrated wealth management capabilities.
The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of the Western Canadian wealth landscape, a strong network of advisor relationships, and a passion for helping advisors grow their businesses. WHAT YOU WILL DO Advisor Recruitment & Growth
  • Lead regional recruitment efforts to attract top-tier financial advisors and teams across CI Wealth's platforms.
  • Develop and execute strategic growth plans tailored to Western Canada's market dynamics.
  • Promote CI's value proposition, including independence, integrated planning, and robust support infrastructure.
Advisor Engagement & Practice Development
  • Build trusted relationships with existing advisors, supporting their business growth, succession planning, and operational efficiency.
  • Act as a strategic partner, connecting advisors with CI's resources in wealth planning, investment management, compliance, and technology.
  • Facilitate onboarding and integration of new advisors and teams into CI's ecosystem.
Regional Leadership & Market Development
  • Represent CI Wealth Management at industry events, conferences, and networking forums across Western Canada.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure regional initiatives align with national priorities.
  • Monitor and report on regional performance metrics, advisor satisfaction, and competitive trends.
Strategic Planning & Execution
  • Contribute to the development of national business development strategies and advisor engagement programs.
  • Analyze regional market dynamics and advisor demographics to inform planning and recruitment targeting.
  • Support cross-channel collaboration and integration across CI Wealth's advisor platforms.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the financial services industry, with strong experience in customer relations, sales and leadership, ideally in an MFDA/IIROC brokerage environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of regional or inter-regional management and strategic growth in the wealth management space.
  • In-depth knowledge of investment products, practice management, advisor technology and regulatory codes.
  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to inspire trust and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills, effective both in person and virtually.
Training and certifications
  • University degree in business administration, finance or a related field.
  • Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC).
  • Advanced titles (CFP, CIM, CFA) are highly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Deep expertise in distribution and wealth management, including investment themes, products and industry trends.
  • Advanced knowledge of practice management frameworks and technology ecosystems for advisors.
  • Strategic leadership and decision-making skills, with a focus on regulatory compliance and organizational objectives.
  • Strong ability to lead, motivate and develop teams; Build strong relationships both internally and externally; and to achieve business results.
  • Fluently bilingual and proficient in French and English.
