Description
Your role at GEI. We are seeking a Senior Systems Integrator to join our technical team. This role is responsible for designing, programming, and commissioning control systems that integrate multiple sub-systems to meet operational, safety, and regulatory requirements. The Senior Systems Integrator will lead complex automation and control projects from concept through commissioning, working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams. This position includes oversight of less experienced staff, technical leadership, and ensuring deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations. Essential Responsibilities & Duties- Engage with clients to understand project requirements and translate them into functional control system designs.
- Develop, test, and implement PLC, HMI, and SCADA programs for industrial and renewable energy applications.
- Produce technical documentation such as control logic diagrams, testing procedures, and operation manuals.
- Apply and maintain SCADA and automation standards to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Program and configure PLCs and HMIs using industry-standard platforms (e.g., Allen Bradley, Schneider, SEL RTAC, Ignition, Wonderware, Kepware).
- Perform on-site commissioning, start-up, and system validation activities.
- Coordinate schedules, track progress, and provide timely project status updates.
- Mentor junior engineers and technologists, fostering technical growth within the team.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders through regular communication and responsive service.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve system issues during all project phases.
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in industrial control systems, automation, or system integration.
- Experience with renewable energy, manufacturing, or industrial infrastructure projects is an asset.
- Proficiency in control system communication protocols such as Modbus and DNP3.
- Ignition Gold Certified
- Proficiency in various programming languages including C#, Python, SQL, and VBA
- Ability to read and produce engineering design documents, including logic diagrams, communication diagrams, and network schematics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant database tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working with various clients in Water and Wastewater sector
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel as required for on-site work.
- Valid driver's license and eligibility to work in Canada.
