Position: Part-Time Accounting AssociateCompensation: $24.00–$26.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)Schedule: 16 hours per week (Monday–Friday, flexible between 8:30 AM–5:00 PM)Future Opportunity: Anticipated to transition to full-time within the coming months.
About the RoleAs a Part-Time Accounting Associate, you'll report to the Group Controller in the Netherlands and collaborate closely with the Canadian leadership team. This position plays a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance, and driving process improvements.
  • Core Responsibilities (70% Accounting):
  • Process purchase and sales invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and coordinate timely invoice approvals.
  • Prepare and remit GST, HST, and excise tax reports.
  • Support monthly financial close and reconciliation activities.
  • Process bi-monthly payroll and maintain payroll accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance financial processes.
  • Procurement (30%) – Temporary until Full-Time Transition:
  • Research and negotiate with suppliers for favorable pricing and terms.
  • Obtain quotes, manage vendor relationships, and maintain purchasing records.
  • Track inventory and initiate purchase orders as needed.
What We're Looking For
  • Education: Post-secondary education in accounting. CPA or pursuing CPA is a strong asset.
  • Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience, ideally with excise tax reporting.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (Elvy preferred; Oracle, SAP, or SAGE accepted) and advanced Excel.
  • Personal Strengths: Analytical thinker, detail-oriented, and a proactive communicator.
  • Mindset: A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment.
