As the brand continues to grow it's community and expand it's digital and retail footprint, The Jilly Box is seeking an experienced, strategic, and values-driven Vice President, Product & eCommerce to lead the future of their product and marketplace strategies.
As the VP, Product & eCommerce, you will be responsible for the vision, strategy, and performance of The Jilly Box's subscription business, limited edition boxes, and eCommerce marketplace. You will lead a talented cross-functional team across product development, procurement, merchandising, and vendor relations ensuring that every product, partnership, and purchase reflects their values and delivers an exceptional customer experience.
This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution. You will bring a balance of creativity and business acumen, driving innovation in product curation and digital merchandising, while building a scalable infrastructure that supports growth, profitability, and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and drive the seasonal and long-term product strategy across all Jilly Box lines: subscription box, limited-edition boxes and eCommerce marketplace;
- Partner with Creative and Marketing to align product mix, storytelling, and launches with brand themes and business goals;
- Champion innovation in product development, exclusive collaborations, and custom product lines experiences;
- Lead product lifecycle decisions, from concept to pricing, grounded in data, trends, and customer insights.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team spanning Product, Merchandising, and eCommerce;
- Translate brand strategy and financial goals into clear roadmaps, KPIs, and performance outcomes;
- Act as a key connector between Creative, Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Systems to deliver seamless execution;
- Foster a culture rooted in collaboration, accountability, and inclusion.
Procurement & Product Development Oversight
- Oversee seasonal box execution — from supplier sourcing to final product delivery and quality assurance;
- Build and nurture supplier relationships, vendor onboarding, and contract negotiations aligned with The Jilly Box's values;
- Lead custom product development and packaging processes in partnership with Creative and Operations;
- Manage QC, sampling, and readiness for photo shoots and product launches.
eCommerce & Merchandising Strategy
- Own the strategy and performance of The Market by The Jilly Box;
- Develop merchandising plans that drive traffic, conversion, and customer lifetime value;
- Partner cross-functionally to plan launch calendars, seasonal refreshes, and promotional strategies;
- Use analytics tools (Shopify, GA4, internal dashboards) to inform decision-making and growth initiatives;
- Oversee site content, UX enhancements, and digital merchandising to elevate the online experience.
Revenue Ownership & Business Performance
- Own top-line and margin performance across both subscription boxes, limited-edition boxes and eCommerce channels;
- Monitor COGS, inventory turnover, sell-through, and cash flow;
- Develop and manage seasonal and promotional budgets in partnership with Finance and Operations.
Values Alignment & Impact Integration
- Ensure all product and sourcing decisions reflect The Jilly Box's core values: trust, connection, community, diversity, and impact;
- Champion ethical, sustainable, and inclusive procurement practices in line with B Corp certification;
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve sourcing, packaging, and supplier diversity;
- Support ongoing impact reporting and certification tracking.
You'll Lead These Roles
- Procurement Manager – Oversees sourcing, vendor management, and box budgeting;
- Product Development Specialist – Supports custom product creation, sampling, and packaging execution;
- Office & Product Coordinator – Manages product samples, documentation, and procurement coordination;
- eCommerce & Digital Merchandising Manager – Leads merchandising strategy, website operations, and digital performance;
- Merchandising Manager – Manages product procurement, vendor relationships, and negotiations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in product, merchandising, or category management in eCommerce, DTC, retail, or CPG;
- Proven success leading both product development and digital commerce strategy in a scaling business;
- Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of margins, inventory, forecasting, and ROI;
- Strategic thinker with a bias for execution; you know how to turn vision into results;
- Experienced people leader who builds trust, empowers teams, and drives accountability;
- Collaborative, adaptable, and purpose-driven, with a passion for supporting small and women-led businesses;
- Proficient with tools such as Shopify, GA4, and Monday.com (or similar platforms).
The successful candidate can be based in either Vancouver or the Okanagan. This hybrid role requires travel to Kelowna monthly. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary ranging from $130,000 to $160,000 per year, depending on experience.
