Job Details:
Our client, The Jilly Box, is a purpose-led, B Corp certified, quarterly lifestyle subscription box and ecommerce platform. Our goal is to bring joy and light into every home while lifting up Canadian, women-led, and equity-deserving brands. From curated products and storytelling to philanthropy and sustainability efforts, The Jilly Box and Jillian Harris team operate with heart, intention, and entrepreneurial spirit.
As the brand continues to expand its digital presence and community impact, The Jilly Box is seeking a strategic and creative Social & Content Manager to lead how the brand shows up across every digital channel and to drive performance through powerful, authentic storytelling.
As the Social & Content Manager, you will be the architect of how The Jilly Box tells its story and how it converts community into customers. This is a strategy-first role with a strong focus on execution, where you'll lead the brand's social and content vision to drive engagement, growth, and revenue. Working as part of a collaborative marketing team, you'll manage the daily rhythm of content creation while building long-term campaigns that support product launches, brand initiatives, and storytelling moments. The ideal candidate will be a digital-first thinker who's equally comfortable writing compelling copy as they are behind the camera creating engaging short-form content.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Strategy & Management
- Own the social media strategy across content, community engagement, and performance;
- Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly social programming aligned with the marketing calendar and business priorities;
- Create and manage a dynamic content calendar featuring brand storytelling, supplier highlights, trending content, and key sales campaigns;
- Collaborate with photographers and videographers to concept and execute visually engaging content;
- Stay ahead of platform trends and algorithms, sharing insights to enhance performance;
- Lead weekly and monthly social analytics reporting, using data to inform future strategy;
- Ensure all content reflects The Jilly Box's core brand values: empowerment, impact, and community.
Content Strategy & Copywriting
- Develop and maintain a cohesive content calendar for all written brand communications;
- Write compelling, on-brand copy for social media, newsletters, video scripts, print materials, and more;
- Craft storytelling and messaging for subscription boxes, product launches, cause-based campaigns, and The Market;
- Drive storytelling that connects emotionally while achieving measurable results.
Photoshoots & Video Content
- Strategically plan and attend monthly and quarterly photoshoots, supporting talent days, supplier features, and seasonal box shoots;
- Create and manage shot lists, scripts, and pre-production details in collaboration with creative teams;
- Develop and edit iPhone and social-first video content from concept to execution;
- Capture behind-the-scenes and real-time content that brings the brand to life;
- Confidently represent the brand on camera when capturing authentic, organic moments;
- Additional duties and projects as required.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in social media management, content strategy, or digital marketing, with a strong storytelling portfolio;
- Degree or diploma in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred;
- Deep understanding of social media trends, analytics, and performance optimization (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.);
- Expert writing and editing skills with an ability to adapt tone and style for diverse audiences;
- Hands-on experience with content creation, video editing, and creative direction;
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities;
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset and genuine enthusiasm for The Jilly Box's mission;
- Flexibility for hybrid work and travel as required.
The successful candidate can be based in either Vancouver or the Okanagan. This hybrid role requires travel to Kelowna at times and participation in off-site shoots as needed. This exciting opportunity offers a competitive salary ranging from $75,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience. After a 3-month probationary period, you will be eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes four weeks of vacation, health and dental coverage, and access to a robust mental health support program. If you're a passionate storyteller who thrives in a fast-paced, values-driven environment and wants to make an impact with a beloved Canadian brand, we'd love to hear from you!
