Job Details:
Our client is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to support the Project Management Office on the Government of Canada's S/4HANA transformation. The role will build a consistent documentation framework and produce high-quality project/technical artifacts used to compete and manage work with a Team of Qualified Suppliers (TQS).
ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver a document intake/process for project aligned to GoC/industry standards.
Author, edit, and format key documents (e.g., SOWs, DIDs, CDRLs, TCRs, TWPs, SORs) and related templates.
Partner with clients technical authorities to gather requirements, standardize nomenclature, and ensure cross-document consistency.
Provide QA on structure, grammar, compliance, task sequencing, and interdependencies across artifacts/work packages.
Maintain version control and update documentation based on feedback/spec changes.
Prepare weekly and monthly status reports, agendas/minutes, and support change/control communications.
Coordinate smooth transition of documents through review/approval and repository standards (Microsoft Office/SharePoint).
University degree/college diploma in business administration, communications, or related field.
5+ years as a Technical Writer on complex programs (Gov't/regulated preferred).
Demonstrated experience producing SOW, DID, CDRL and similar artifacts to DND/GoC standards.
Strong stakeholder facilitation; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines across multiple concurrent tasks.
Advanced MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint; comfortable with structured templates and style guides.
Familiarity with:
TBS/DND standards (e.g., DAOD, C-01-100-100/AG-006/008, D-01-300-100, CAF SOR/SOW guidance).
ERP/SAP program documentation (S/4HANA context).
Experience establishing documentation governance (templates, intake, KPI dashboards, RAID/action logs).
Primarily virtual, with escorted access to DND facilities if required.
Key deliverables include: intake process, template suite (SOW/DID/CDRL/etc.), weekly and monthly reports, agendas/minutes, and finalized documents per approved templates.
