TITLE: Administrative Assistant - HCA (Health Care Assistant) Practicum
The Administrative Assistant for the Practicum Placement & Employment Services at WCC will work directly with the Practicum Placement & Employment Coordinator, providing administrative and operational support in the coordination of student practicums, liaising with external partners, and managing the administrative tasks related to practicum placements across multiple programs.
Key Responsibilities:
-Assist the Practicum Coordinator with coordinating practicum placements for students from the HCA program.
-Communicate with host organizations to secure practicum placements and maintain relationships with existing partners.
-Provide administrative support, including maintaining student practicum records, tracking placement progress, and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
-Schedule and coordinate student orientations, practicum site visits, and evaluations.
-Schedule and coordinate visits with Clinical/Practicum instructors.
-Travel between campuses (Abbotsford and Surrey), if required to support practicum-related activities and assist the Practicum Coordinator where needed.
-Assist in resolving any issues that may arise during placements and provide ongoing support to students.
-Provide support in the communication with students, instructors, and practicum sites to ensure a smooth and successful placement process.
Qualifications and Skills:
-A diploma or degree in a related field (education, administration, or healthcare is an asset).
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships with students, instructors, and practicum site partners.
-Administrative experience, preferably in an educational or healthcare setting.
-Ability to work independently, be proactive, and demonstrate problem-solving skills.
-Willingness and ability to travel between campuses (Abbotsford and Surrey).
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with online education management systems is an asset.
