Sales Lead,Transportation Technologies
Plan Group Inc. is a leader in the construction industry providing project management and engineering solutions on various leading-edge projects in the transportation industry. We have been an integral partner in the design, engineering and implementation of fare card management systems, PA systems, CAD AVL, passenger information systems and infrastructure systems.
We're seeking a dynamic and strategic Sales Lead to drive growth in public transportation technologies across North America. This role focuses on building relationships with transit agencies and government bodies, while identifying new verticals like airports for technology expansion. You'll be the face of our cutting-edge solutionsfrom CAD/AVL systems to fleet electrificationand play a pivotal role in shaping the future of mobility.
To truly excel in this role you possess the technical know-how and ability to provide solutions to unique client requirements. You bring established business relationships with key players within the transportation and construction industries as well as a proven track record for identifying opportunities and new business connections. You have the ability to leverage your strong communication and interpersonal skills to positively influence others and drive for results.
As Sales Lead,Transportation Technologies you will be asked to do the following:
Business Development & Relationship Management
- Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with transit agencies, municipalities, and government stakeholders.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities across public transit and adjacent sectors such as airports, logistics hubs, and smart cities.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to promote brand visibility and thought leadership.
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Lead sales initiatives for a range of transportation technologies, including:
- CAD/AVL (Computer-Aided Dispatch/Automatic Vehicle Location)
- Farecard and payment systems
- Onboard Wi-Fi and passenger display systems
- CCTV and security infrastructure
- Electrification solutions for transit fleets
- Maintenance and lifecycle services
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and RFP responses tailored to client needs.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to align solutions with market demand.
- Maintain key relationships while executing sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Forecast sales performance, manage pipeline and opportunities, and report monthly on progress.
Market Expansion & Vertical Integration
- Research and analyze market trends to identify cross-sector opportunities.
- Position the company as a thought leader in smart mobility and sustainable transit solutions.
- Promote and educate consultants and end users on transportation technologies and services.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven track record in B2B sales, preferably in transportation, mobility, or infrastructure technologies.
- Strong understanding of public transit systems and procurement processes.
- Experience engaging with government agencies and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
- Technical knowledge of transit technologies and systems integration.

- Excellent communication, presentation (verbal and written), and negotiation skills.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with agencies such as Metrolinx, TransLink, TTC, STM, or similar.
- Technical knowledge of transit technologies and systems integration.
- Background in selling to airports, municipalities, or large infrastructure projects.
- Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft 365 suite.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in sales or business development, ideally in the transportation market.
