Dispatcher- Mississauga (2pm to 10:30pm)

Protrans Personnel Services Inc. is currently hiring Dispatcher for a leading Transportation company based in Mississauga (ON)
Shift Timing: 2pm to 10:30pm (Monday to Friday)
Pay Rate: $23/hr (Paid Weekly)
Location: Close to Dixie & Britannia intersection.
Summary:
The Dispatcher plays a key role in coordinating and managing the movement of freight across terminal locations. This role involves scheduling and dispatching linehaul drivers to ensure timely, efficient, and safe transportation of goods. The Dispatcher will collaborate with drivers and operations staff to optimize routes, maintain compliance, and deliver exceptional service.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Fully understand and utilize the Transport dispatch system to ensure moves are current and accurate.
-Delegate and prioritize pickups to maintain efficient freight movement and meet delivery schedules.
-Dispatch drivers in compliance with hours of service and company policies.
-Prepare trailer lists and ensure accuracy through yard checks and communication with the shop.
-Liaise between city dispatch, dock personnel, and incoming drivers to coordinate load and equipment requirements.
-Communicate with other terminals and Central Dispatch regarding pickups, driver availability, and scheduling.
-Handle after-hours calls and customer inquiries related to dispatch and delivery.
-Ensure all paperwork and data entry are completed accurately.
-Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements/Qualifications:
-Minimum 2 years of experience with Transport or equivalent.
-Prior dispatch experience is highly preferred.
-Proficiency with systems (AS400, Microsoft Office).
-Strong communication and people skills.
-Knowledge of paper flow, traffic functions, and the GTA geography.
Working Conditions:
-Overtime as required.
-Flexibility to provide vacation coverage when needed.
