General Description

We are looking for a highly organized Shop supervisor to create production schedules and oversee production & project processes while leading the team with excellent leadership skills. Candidate will be responsible for ensuring that equipment is functioning correctly and that health and safety protocols are adhered to. To be successful as a Shop Supervisor you must be able to multitask and oversee several operations at a time.

Job Duties / Responsibilities

  • Coordination and completion of projects on time within budget and within scope
  • Oversee all aspects of projects. Set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitor and summarize progress of project
  • Implement, control and review the production schedule
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Set and monitor quality standards of products
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Preparing and updating the project schedule and delegate the work to the team based on individual strength, skill sets and experience levels
  • Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement
  • Schedule regular maintenance for equipment
  • Implement cost control programs
  • Ordering and purchasing the required material and equipment
  • Inventory management, cycle count, periodic count etc.
  • Manage shipping and receiving of production items
  • Reporting any non conformances related to products and shipments
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety regulations are met
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Guiding designers through their projects by reviewing and approving the design and making sure the quality is up to standard.
  • Train personnel on new equipment and review all equipment and safety procedures based on necessity and scheduled performance reviews
  • Ensure workplace is safe and clean through task delegation and educating personnel
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Work Experience Requirements / Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of production control supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge and experience in production and manufacturing processes and techniques
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Problem solving abilities and conflict management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Educational Requirements

  • A Degree or Post-Secondary education in Mechanical, Industrial, or a related technical field.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite software; Advance Excel
