Position Summary: CD International is seeking a dedicated and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in High River, AB. This full-time position is crucial to our operations, responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of our fleet of heavy equipment and trucks. The ideal candidate is a skilled professional with strong diagnostic abilities and a commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform skilled diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on a variety of heavy-duty trucks and equipment, including diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems.
Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and service to ensure all equipment operates at peak performance and in compliance with safety standards.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using both manual and computer-based diagnostic tools.
Execute repairs, parts replacement, and rebuilds as necessary.
Maintain accurate records of all work performed, parts used, and inspections completed.
Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and provincial regulations.
Collaborate effectively with the transport and operations teams to minimize downtime and ensure timely completion of projects.
Required Qualifications:
Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyperson certification in Alberta (or a Red Seal Endorsement).
Proven experience (e.g., 3-5+ years) as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in a professional setting.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and tools.
Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical manuals.
Possession of a valid driver's license (Class 1 or 3 is a plus).
Ability to lift heavy components and perform physically demanding tasks.
