Summary:
The Shipper/Receiver prepares orders by processing and supplying requests, pulling materials, packing, wrapping, labeling pallets, and placing material in staging area. They perform receiving inspections on incoming orders to ensure requirements are met and ensure incoming items are properly identified after being released.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Unload incoming material shipments and store efficiently in designated locations (steel pipe, steel wire, etc.)
- Organize and identify stock and maintain inventory; restock materials as required
- Performing receiving inspections on materials for defects and damage
- Organize space in the warehouse
- Maintain quality service by following organization standards
- Adhere to health, safety, and quality policies, as well as all company policies and procedures
- Arrange shipment of product as required by order documentation in an accurate and timely based on commitments made to the customer
- Receiving product accurately and timely so the product is available for order fulfillment as soon as possible
- Assist in inventory management through documentation processes and yearly inventory counts, as well as monthly cycle counts
- Responding to any shipping discrepancies in a timely manner based on service level commitments
- Participate in training and safety meetings as required

Education/Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in shipping and receiving
- Grade 12 basic math skills
- Forklift Operator Certification; experience handling oversized loads and industrial materials preferred
Requirements
- Driven, reliable, and a strong sense of initiative to deliver results
- Strong physical fitness and ability to stand and walk for extended periods to meet the demands of a hands-on work environment
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 45 lbs, lift items weighing more than 45 lbs with assistance from other workers, forklift and/or overhead hoist
- Comfortable working pipe handling/oversized materials in tight spaces and outdoor environments
- Ability to work with others in a fast paced environment to achieve job goals
- Work under pressure while maintaining precision and accuracy
- Basic computer skills (MS office including Excel and Outlook)
