A reputable professional services organization is seeking a Senior Accountant – Audit & Assurance to join their team on a contract basis (9 months). This role offers the opportunity to lead end-to-end client engagements, mentor junior staff, and contribute to high-quality service delivery. About the Role
Reporting to a senior audit leader, this contract position will play a key role in overseeing audit and assurance engagements across a range of clients. From planning through to final reporting, the role requires a blend of technical acumen, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
What You'll Do

• Lead audit and assurance engagements from initial planning to completion
• Perform fieldwork and substantive testing using established methodologies
• Identify and address accounting and operational issues, proposing relevant solutions
• Provide meaningful recommendations to improve internal controls and processes
• Supervise, coach, and review the work of junior team members
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure high service standards
• Support internal process enhancements and compliance initiatives

What You Bring

• CPA designation in good standing
• 5–7 years of progressive audit and assurance experience
• Solid understanding of audit methodology and financial reporting standards
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a team setting
• Located in Eastern Canada or open to occasional travel as needed
