We are currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our client in Moncton, NB. This is a full-time, ongoing assignment. The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment.
THE ROLE

• Operates heavy equipment including excavators and front loaders with the ability of spreading, covering, loading and/or compacting waste or solids in a landfill
• Inspects and performs daily routine servicing on equipment
• Identifies equipment problems and reports need for equipment servicing and repair
• Monitors solid waste while moving, compacting or covering trash to identify and report any hazardous materials
• Performs laboring work in the maintenance and construction of the site assigned
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Performs all other duties assigned by the Operation Manager

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum Two (2) Years experience in Heavy Equipment operation is required Valid Driver's License with Clear Driver's Abstract is required
• CSA Approved Steel Toe Boots are required
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs on a frequent basis is required
• Ability to sit, stand, walk on uneven and slippery surface, reaching, kneeling, bending and repetitive hand movements is required
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in variable temperatures and weather conditions
• Ability to work in environments which include strong odors, dust, & air contaminants

WHAT WE OFFER

• $22.00/hr or based on experience; plus 4% vacation pay
