Be a part of the initial team to grow and operate a regionally significant new underground mine development that is rapidly becoming the future of the iconic Red Lake gold mining district in Ontario, Canada.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager the successful candidate is responsible to compile, verify, record and process timesheets, forms and documents. The Reliability Engineer / Specialist will work to safety standards and support the production targets on a locally based 5-on / 2-off, day shift schedule.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Maintenance strategies for mining equipment (e.g., crushers, mills, conveyors, haul trucks, shovels, pumps).
- Perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for Equipment Failures to prevent recurrence.
- Utilize predictive maintenance tools and techniques (vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography) to monitor equipment health.
- Analyze equipment performance data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with planners, supervisors, and operations teams to optimize the preventive maintenance program and procedures.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Champion reliability-based initiatives such as RCM, FMEA, and Life Cycle Costing.
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance teams on reliability standards and best practices.
- Develop and maintain reliability engineering documentation and reports.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree or RSE trade in Mechanical, Electrical, or related field (or related discipline).
- Minimum 35 years of experience in a reliability or maintenance engineering role, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sector.
- Familiarity with gold processing equipment and mining operations is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Pronto, or similar).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with RCA and reliability tools.
- Knowledge of condition monitoring technologies and techniques.
- Certification in reliability engineering (e.g., CMRP) is an asset.
